John Turns 40!

This weekend John turned 40. We planned a little family dinner with his parents but when we got to the restaurant, John was in for a surprise. Several of his good friends showed up to celebrate with us. It amazes me how many friends John has that he met as far back as elementary school. Thanks so much to everyone who came to help us celebrate. It made for a great time! Here are few of the photos from the party.

John met David Tompkins when he was in grammer school at St. Maria Goretti and they have been friends ever since. He met Christine, David's wife, at Nolan High School.

Another of John's friends from St. Maria Goretti, Michael Skotnik, came all the way from Texarkana to celebrate.

John and Carol Klocek, friends from Nolan also drove in to celebrate with us. We are really happy that they were able to come up as we don't get to see them too often.

After graduating from Nolan, these guys all went on to UTA. Chris & May Turbeville with their daughter, June and Mark & Lydia Hatch.

John worked at a company called XO communications where he made more good friends. He has since left that company but he still maintains his friendships with the people he met there. Ian & Roya Evans joined us for the fun.

Randy & Jennifer Strother, also friends from XO joined in the festivities as well.

David, Tanya and Mia drove in from Houston to be part of the fun.

John with his parents and my mom. Dad was the mastermind behind the whole shindig. He actually pulled it off. John was speechless when he entered the room and all his friends were there.

Great job, Dad!

Mother's Day 2008

This year for Mother's Day, we did our annual brunch at the Worthington in Ft. Worth. As always, we had a great time. This year we lingered a little longer that usual in the walkway over the street. There was a nice piano that John and Brendan used to provide a little entertainment. And, the atmosphere was conducive to relaxation after a wonderful meal.

Here's Mom and her two eldest children.

Here's the other mom, Michele and her 4 boys. Paul in back, Brendan and John on each side and James in front.

Brendan & Grans

John & Brendan at the piano. According to Brendan, all the good sounds that were coming from the piano? Yeah, that was him.

Dad enjoying the relaxing sounds of the "John & Brendan Duo" on the piano.
