Mom's Birthday

It's not often you get to wish someone a happy 80th birthday.  We are fortunate to have done just that.  It's Judy's birthday and the whole family got together to celebrate.

We all met up at Bob's Chophouse in Ft. Worth

David, Mia and Dylan came up from Houston.  Michele, Mark, John and Elaine were there.  And, of course, me and John.

After everyone got drinks, David gave a lovely toast to Mom.
Afterwards, we all ordered...and then we waited.  Bob's is a Ft. Worth institution.  They are known for their amazing steaks and....the famous glazed carrot.  David highly recommended the Waygu filet.  I was thinking more along the lines of fish but I have to admit, the Waygu filet was hard to resist....So I didn't.
I wouldn't be me if I didn't post pictures of food.  John and I split a wedge salad that was quite tasty!
And then...the filet.  I have to admit, that big carrot in the middle of my plate was a little intimidating.  I did try it but it was, after all, still a carrot.  Check out the baked potato!  It's the size of my head!  The filet didn't disappoint.  The photo makes it look like a hockey puck but in reality it was cooked perfectly and was so tender it melted in your mouth.
David got the Tomahawk Waygu Ribeye that he shared with Dylan.  That was pretty amazing.  It was huge!  But what was cool was that they had sliced it up for him.  Quick side note:  See that little pat of butter?  That was all the butter that I got for my five pound baked potato.  Seriously?

Clearly, dinner was delish.  Note all the empty plates...
Instead of ordering dessert, David and Michele got a cake and a pie for dessert.
Here's the presentation of the of the desserts...
Mom looks very thrilled to listen to us all sing off key but when it's your kids, I guess it really is music to your ears.
And finally, the big wish!
John was making fun of the fact that my phone was old and slow (not unlike myself).  So I quickly, shifted to selfie mode and snapped a pic just to show him that me and my phone weren't so slow after all.

And here we all are.  Happy Birthday, Mom!!  We love you!
